Spokane is part of the Inland Empire, a rich agricultural plateau extending to northern Idaho and Montana, providing only one quarter of the production of wheat in the United States. Criss-crossed by the Spokane River, dotted with countless parks and gardens, Spokane is a city where you can stroll. It also enjoys a relatively mild climate in winter and fresh in summer.Spokane, a first pioneer village founded in the Northwest (1870), has developed on mining, wood and agriculture. The railway line contributed to its expansion. It is now one of the major business centres in the region. The city offers cheap accommodation and we eat well. However, this city is more a step than a destination. It allows, in fact, to reach the majestic park of Yellowstone in Wyoming and thus open the doors of the mythical Far West, or Canada to the north.
