Vale is an urbanized, yet picturesque and verdant parish in the northeast of the island. Here, swimmers and other beach-goers can enjoy a number of beaches: Ancresse Bay, Ladie's Bay and Grand Havre. Towers dot the superb coastal landscape. Pigeons sometimes make them their home. After Fort Doyle, we'll linger at Beaucette Marina, a tiny marina built into an old quarry and offering remarkable shelter with barely a glimpse of the sea. However, the beaches of Bordeaux Harbour and Belle Grève Bay lack a little charm and are mainly frequented by fishermen and divers. In this friendly parish, you can also visit the 12th-century Château de Vale, the prehistoric site of Les Fouaillages, the Dehus dolmen and the perfectly restored Rousse Tower.
