HECTOR’S FISH’N’CHIPS
Read moreIf you do not know where to eat in Saint-Hélier, do not hesitate for a moment, go to this fish' chips, one of the best in town. The cuisine is very hearty and is perfectly suitable for big eaters. We love.
THE CHAMBERS
Read moreThe Chambers is one of the city's largest pubs, styled in much lighter tones than traditional pubs. With its contemporary decor and mezzanine, it's a really friendly place to enjoy burgers, pizzas, grills and salads. And it's always at the Chambers that the population is the most heterogeneous and changes throughout the day. Bands play regularly, and the island's young people come to dance the night away, often to the sound of a DJ or live band.
QUAYSIDE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
Read moreLocated in the heart of Saint-Hélier, opposite the port in the Liberty Wharf complex, Quayside Bistro is a place for epicureans. We come here to eat well, but mostly for the view. If you're looking for a friendly setting, this is the place. The cuisine is of the highest quality and the presentation is meticulous. You can also enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail on the upstairs terrace. An address not to be missed, very lively especially on Sunday lunchtimes.
LA FRÉGATE CAFÉ
Read moreThis café looks like an overturned boat... Impossible to miss it! This lath-covered building is isolated along the harbor. It serves excellent breakfasts (note that the café boasts the biggest scones on the island...), honest dishes during the day and a very nice menu of Thai specialties in the evening. But we will come there especially at the end of the day, at sunset time, to drink a glass of wine facing the Elizabeth Castle and the bay of Saint-Aubin. A magical moment in perspective.
SEAFISH CAFE
Read moreLocated in Saint-Hélier's main square, this fish & chips offers hearty dishes in a very lively, modern decor, on the small terrace in the shopping mall or to take away to enjoy on a sunny day. Prices are fairly reasonable, and the dishes are quite good, prepared to order and always cooked to perfection. A good address for fish and chips, of course... but not the only one, as you can also choose from a number of excellent burgers. There's also another restaurant in the village of Saint-Aubin.
THE GOOD EGG BEACH CAFE
Read moreAt Le Havre des Pas, here are a few tables overlooking the beach to enjoy (very) good breakfasts and delicious brunches and bowls. Whether it's early morning or lunchtime, it's a great place to grab a bite to eat and sip a smoothie in peace and quiet, and it's environmentally friendly too. Under Kate's guidance, we're always served fresh, seasonal produce and revisited local dishes. To make matters worse, the atmosphere is family-friendly and smiles are the order of the day... We love it!
ROSIE'S TEA ROOM
Read moreAt Rosie's, you'll be delighted to sit down right next to the market and enjoy a menu of excellent breakfasts ( British-style, of course), great soups, tasty toasts and sandwiches, and a few more elaborate dishes. Nothing too fancy, but always well-crafted. On the other side, you can choose between a few tables inside or a lovely terrace facing the market. Of course, as the name suggests, a fine range of teas awaits you at Rosie. A tasty, timeless address.
WILD FIRE
Read moreWhile you can get fish or a plate of linguine, the only reason to come to Wild Fire is for its impressive menu of steaks, from Angus to Chateaubriand, to large rib eye steaks and superb ribeyes. Always cooked to perfection! If the bill can quickly rise, carnivores will be delighted in this beautiful room decorated with pleasant benches, beautiful light fixtures and metal design trophies hanging on the walls. And the advice of the staff, always smiling, is very wise.
BANJO
Read moreThis luxurious brasserie, with its sleek, stylish look, welcomes the upper crust of Saint-Hélier society to a private mansion in the heart of the capital. You'll come for the bar and its top-flight cocktails, or for the restaurant's well-crafted menu and consistently delicious cuisine, such as the fine sole or truffle risotto. A charming setting and the promise of a delicious moment for two. Le Banjo also offers four luxury rooms. Ask at reception.
THE LOOKOUT BEACH CAFE & RESTAURANT
Read moreThe Lookout Beach is a great option for beach dining outside Saint-Hélier, from breakfast to dinner, late afternoon tea or brunch. Located on the road leading to Saint-Lawrence, the menu is simple and effective, featuring seafood, hearty salads and a fine selection of burgers. Also on the menu are a number of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
NUMBER 10 RESTAURANT & BAR
Read moreThe Bond Street Social took over from Number 10 in 2023, but remains one of Saint-Hélier's trendiest addresses. Here, you'll enjoy an inventive menu that changes with the seasons and new arrivals. But there's one constant: fresh and, for the most part, local produce; and the menu is always well thought-out and copious. For an aperitif or digestif, the in-house bar is just the place. In short, this is an address to remember for a successful evening in the capital.
