THE CHAMBERS

British restaurant
5/5
1 review

The Chambers is one of the city's largest pubs, styled in much lighter tones than traditional pubs. With its contemporary decor and mezzanine, it's a really friendly place to enjoy burgers, pizzas, grills and salads. And it's always at the Chambers that the population is the most heterogeneous and changes throughout the day. Bands play regularly, and the island's young people come to dance the night away, often to the sound of a DJ or live band.

QUAYSIDE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT

British restaurant €€
4.5/5
2 reviews

Located in the heart of Saint-Hélier, opposite the port in the Liberty Wharf complex, Quayside Bistro is a place for epicureans. We come here to eat well, but mostly for the view. If you're looking for a friendly setting, this is the place. The cuisine is of the highest quality and the presentation is meticulous. You can also enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail on the upstairs terrace. An address not to be missed, very lively especially on Sunday lunchtimes.

LA FRÉGATE CAFÉ

British restaurant
4/5
1 review

This café looks like an overturned boat... Impossible to miss it! This lath-covered building is isolated along the harbor. It serves excellent breakfasts (note that the café boasts the biggest scones on the island...), honest dishes during the day and a very nice menu of Thai specialties in the evening. But we will come there especially at the end of the day, at sunset time, to drink a glass of wine facing the Elizabeth Castle and the bay of Saint-Aubin. A magical moment in perspective.

A relaxed, but sometimes noisy, café, to know as it is located in the arts centre of Jersey (cinema, dance, theatre, exhibitions). International cuisine. Access to the Internet. An indispensable place to note immediately in your address book.

THE GRILL

Fusion restaurant and international cuisine €€€

This chic restaurant is very popular with islanders and is located on the first floor of The Royal Yacht Hotel. It offers sophisticated international cuisine, with Executive Chef Inaka Weerasinghe at the helm since 2021, who brings an Australasian flair to a menu that blends local products with more exotic ingredients. The wine list is very well stocked with labels from all over the world. In short, a very good cuisine in a very sophisticated setting. You can also go there for the very nice view on the marina and the central square.

SEAFISH CAFE

British restaurant

Located in Saint-Hélier's main square, this fish & chips offers hearty dishes in a very lively, modern decor, on the small terrace in the shopping mall or to take away to enjoy on a sunny day. Prices are fairly reasonable, and the dishes are quite good, prepared to order and always cooked to perfection. A good address for fish and chips, of course... but not the only one, as you can also choose from a number of excellent burgers. There's also another restaurant in the village of Saint-Aubin.

BOHEMIA RESTAURANT

In this Michelin-starred restaurant, the menu marvelously mixes local products and flavors from elsewhere. The menu changes according to the seasons and new arrivals. If the adventurous are tempted by the 6-course surprise menu, the risk will remain minimal as the quality and mastery are there. In short, this address with its chic and neat setting will delight gourmets. It is quite simply one of the best restaurants in Great Britain and is constantly winning awards and distinctions. And in summer the terrace is very pleasant.

THE GOOD EGG BEACH CAFE

British restaurant

At Le Havre des Pas, here are a few tables overlooking the beach to enjoy (very) good breakfasts and delicious brunches and bowls. Whether it's early morning or lunchtime, it's a great place to grab a bite to eat and sip a smoothie in peace and quiet, and it's environmentally friendly too. Under Kate's guidance, we're always served fresh, seasonal produce and revisited local dishes. To make matters worse, the atmosphere is family-friendly and smiles are the order of the day... We love it!

L'Awabi is one of the best addresses, if not the best, for Japanese food on the island of Jersey. This small, cosy room sends you to the Land of the Rising Sun, with its minimalist decor and a menu of (very) well thought-out Japanese specialities, devised by the self-taught and very talented chef Stephen. With the addition of Asian beers and a selection of fine wines on the menu, there's something to delight even the most discerning palate in the heart of Saint-Hélier. Calling all connoisseurs!

WILD FIRE

British restaurant €€

While you can get fish or a plate of linguine, the only reason to come to Wild Fire is for its impressive menu of steaks, from Angus to Chateaubriand, to large rib eye steaks and superb ribeyes. Always cooked to perfection! If the bill can quickly rise, carnivores will be delighted in this beautiful room decorated with pleasant benches, beautiful light fixtures and metal design trophies hanging on the walls. And the advice of the staff, always smiling, is very wise.

SOY

Japanese restaurant €€

Le Soy is one of the best places to eat Japanese food in the Channel Islands. The chef takes the great classics of Japanese menus and adds a few well-considered inspirations, between fusion cuisine, good seafood ideas and poke bowls. To make matters worse, the setting is really very pleasant, the decor is always tasteful and there's a large (heated) terrace for those nice days when it doesn't rain.

NUMBER 10 RESTAURANT & BAR

British restaurant €€

The Bond Street Social took over from Number 10 in 2023, but remains one of Saint-Hélier's trendiest addresses. Here, you'll enjoy an inventive menu that changes with the seasons and new arrivals. But there's one constant: fresh and, for the most part, local produce; and the menu is always well thought-out and copious. For an aperitif or digestif, the in-house bar is just the place. In short, this is an address to remember for a successful evening in the capital.
