45 km south of St. Petersburg. Surrounded by fir forests, ponds and lakes, the area of the village of Gatchina is picturesque and worth a detour during long stays. From 1783, Gatchina became the residence of the future Emperor Paul I, and the estate was further embellished. The complex, which was badly damaged during the Second World War, has now been perfectly restored.
By train. From the Baltic Railway Station in the direction of Gatchina-Baltiiskaya. Approximately 1 hour/100 RUB.
By bus. From M° Moskovskaya station, take No. 431 (departures every 40-50 min), stop is at McDonald's.
Marshrutka. From Moskovskaya station, take the n° 18, 18-А (departures every 10 to 15 min). Stop behind the Lenin statue.
