Petit Futé's opinion on SAINT PETERSBURG ADMIRALTY
Peter the Great had a shipyard built here in 1704, but an attack by the Swedes led to the fortification of the yard and its transformation into a fortress surrounded by ramparts and a canal. The Admiralty became a place to stroll in the 19th century when the ramparts were destroyed and the canal filled in to make way for a grand boulevard and a garden that extends over an area of 9 hectares leading to the north façade of the Saint-Isaac Cathedral.
De tout endroit de St Petersbourg, on peut voir la flèche de l'Amirauté. C'est un superbe bâtiment qui accueille aussi l'école navale russe. L'endroit est certes plus avenant que Lanvéoc-Poulmic, siège de l'Ecole Navale française ...
L'Amirauté un des monuments les plus marquants de Saint-Pétersbourg et l'architecture russe,la première chose que l'on voit est l'aiguille de l'Amirauté scintillant dans le lointain.L'Amirauté ne se visite pas.
