Formerly Red Army Day, this festival has not aged a bit and remains as much a Russian national holiday as a public holiday. The Defender of the Fatherland Day is widely celebrated in St. Petersburg, a martyred city that distinguished itself particularly for its courage and resilience during the 900 days of the Leningrad blockade. It will be difficult to find space in bars on that day to celebrate what is also considered to be a men's holiday.
