The party that marks the winter passage in spring the week preceding the Orthodox Carême, 7 weeks before Easter. The Winter Festival at Place des Arts is one of the best music festivals of the year. It takes place at the Philharmonie and presents the best contemporary performers. Created in 1999, the festival not only brings together a very eclectic programme but also brings together the major cultural institutions located around the square that gives its name to the festival: the Russian Museum, the Mikhailovsky and Musical Theatres, the Saint-Sauveur-sur-le-Sang-Versé Cathedral.

This world-renowned early music festival features performances of music from the Middle Ages, Baroque, Classical and Renaissance periods, performed by Russian and international musicians. The festival revives the court music of the 18th century and brings to life the musical traditions of the peoples of Russia. Several concerts take place in many places in the city, from the Menchikov Palace to more confidential theatres and churches.

Organized simultaneously with the Night of the Museums in France, the formula is more and more appreciated by the people of St. Petersburg. Numerous sites participate and open their doors free of charge that night.

We celebrate the anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg by Peter the Great (May 27, 1703). The festivities are mainly concentrated in the city centre. The procession led by the mayor of the city is composed of the constituted bodies and the great representatives of the city. Gala concerts in most of the city's theatres and a fireworks display on the Neva River. This festival also marks the beginning of the "White Nights".

The city's most famous and emblematic performing arts company, the illustrious Mariinsky Theatre, is offering this remarkable international festival of the Nuits Blanches Stars on the occasion of the Nuits Blanches. From the end of May to the beginning of August, the festival's rich programme presents the best opera dancers and singers of the moment in two mythical venues: the Mariinsky and the Hermitage Theatre. A must for lovers of great music and dance.
