Situated south of St Petersburg along the Obvodny Grand Canal, which marked the southern boundary of the city in the 19th century, it is no longer too far from the centre. Tickets can be bought in the right wing of the station. Departures to Gatchina (Paul I's romantic castle), to Peterhof (the unmissable palaces and gardens with their fountains and water jets facing the Baltic Sea) and to Oranienbaum (the only museum that remained intact during the war).
