Forres is all that is Scottish with its dark stones, its flowery facades. Forres is one of the oldest small towns in Scotland, hence its charm. Its craft stores and art galleries also contribute greatly to its charm. Nearby is Brodie Castle, an elegant castle with daffodil beds, and two distilleries, Benromach and Dallas Dhu. On Findhorn Road, just outside of town, you'll find Sueno's Stone, a raised stone carved by the Picts and believed to date back to the end of the first millennium. By train, Forres is 30 minutes from Inverness, 15 minutes from Elgin and 1h45 from Aberdeen.
