Over 20 km long and 5 km wide, Coll is a vast expanse of uninterrupted wilderness. Its landscapes offer a succession of cliffs, dunes, long immaculate bays and small lochs wedged in the rock. The beaches of Crossapol and Feall in the south are magical, as are those of Hogh and Cliad. There is no shortage of picturesque coves and birdlife, especially in the southwest of the island, towards Totronald, which is an RSPB bird sanctuary. Don't miss the two castles of Breachacha, on the banks of the eponymous loch. The first is a 15th century fortress and the second a beautiful 18th century mansion.
