With over 350 historic buildings within a 10km radius, this small village has one of the richest Neolithic heritages in the country. Its fascinating heritage can be seen along the Kilmartin Glen, along the A816, which runs north and south. Carnasserie Castle, a castle 2.5 km north of the village accessed by a signposted path from the road, is also worth a stop. Built in the 16th century, it is free and open to the public. Walk through the churchyard of Kilmartin, where engraved steles and Celtic crosses date back to the Middle Ages. A visitor center and a museographic space are at your disposal.
