On the border of the Borders, Biggar is strategically located in close proximity to the rivers Tweed and Clyde. It makes an excellent base for exploring the region, as the Clyde Valley Tourist Road passes through it. You'll follow the river towards the coast, passing through a series of towns and natural and historic sites. The journey through the Borders can take from an afternoon to several days. The town is known for its Biggar Little Festival in October (dance, arts, crafts, theater and literature), its Hogmanay bonfire and its permanent puppet theater. History buffs can follow the Heritage Trail.
