Crossed by the Cadagua River, Güeñes is a narrow valley surrounded by a generous nature that supplies it with wood and makes it one of the main centers of furniture manufacturing. If you stop in Güeñes, don't miss a visit to the church of Santa Maria. Built in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 16th, it is a beautiful example of the Gothic and Renaissance styles. The other emblem of the city is its current town hall, the Villa Urrutia. It was built in 1910 in an Indian style and was the summer residence of the Urrutia family, who made their fortune in Mexico. You can walk through its gardens, which house the Arenatza Botanical Park.
