On the stately dunes you will pass through the flora and sand of a dunes that are now protected. 600 hectares of grey dunes are opened. Visits are organized with the coast guard. The dunes of Hattainville peak 80 metres high, climb in the land up to nearly 1,5 km. They are an integral part of a Dit massif. It is to protect this exceptional site of any tourist or industrial construction that the acquisition of the dunes of Hattainville began in 1979. The 80 hectares of dunes in Surtainville and the Green Fosses, 430 hectares in the Moitiers d'Allonne, and at the end of hectares in Barneville-Carteret, are the owner of the Côtes du Littoral. a study conducted in 2001 accounted for nearly 50 000 annual visitors, proof of the attraction of the site and the need to preserve it. For information the commune owes its name to the absorption of the commune of Notre-Dame-D'Allone by that of Saint-Pierre-d'Allone in 1818.
