Less than 5 km from the English border, it's a far cry from a typical Welsh town. If tourists venture here, it's mainly for Powis Castle. Another of the town's attractions is its many opportunities for short walks, along the canal or in the surrounding hills. The Llyn Coed y Dinas nature reserve is free to enter: on the site of an old mine pit, an artificial lake was created in 1993. A circular walk leads you to discover countless species of wild ducks. A brochure with detailed itineraries is available free of charge from the tourist office.
