Betws-y-Coed (pronounced "Betous-ar-Coyd") is a hiking station, ideal for exploring the Snowdonia National Park, and a meeting place for walkers and mountain bikers. In summer and spring, they stroll in great numbers through the few streets of this small village of 700 inhabitants. The river runs parallel to a row of houses built to watch the whirlpools. It's an abundance of trees and mountains that hide, at the end of their paths, a lake, a viewpoint, a valley, waterfalls... And always, hidden under ferns and heather, that thick, supple moss, soft to the walker, tender to the sleeper, the moss of fairy tales, the one that soothes the head of poets.
