Between Carmarthen and Tenby, the village is charming with the 12th century Laugharne castle giving an irresistible touch of grandeur to the whole. The poet Dylan Thomas lived for fifteen years in this village, where he is buried. A small path leads to the "Boathouse", the house where he lived with his three children and his wife Caitlin during the last years of his life, and which was later turned into a museum. To get there, you pass by the small garage where he wrote many of his poems. With a splendid view of the estuary, it is easier to understand where the poet drew his inspiration. Nothing has changed in the house.
