At the southernmost point of Gower, this small village is the starting point for a number of coastal walks, where you can admire the caves carved out by the sea at low tide. One of these is Culver Hole, where a wall with "windows" has been built by man. No one knows whether this is a dovecote or a refuge in which smugglers hid their booty! Continuing along the coastal path, we come across Paviland Cave, where a Stone Age skeleton was found in 1823. At the far end of the bay, you can admire the Salt House: the ruins of an 18th-century salt-producing house.
