Travel Guide Barry (Y Barri)

Barry boasts large, easily accessible sandy beaches, a promenade with ice-cream stands, snack bars and an amusement park. Whitmore Bay fills up in summer with families who come to enjoy sunbathing and swimming. In August, there's a beach volleyball championship. In September, it's the turn of the Tall Ships Festival, a weekend devoted entirely to water sports. Friars Point hides another beach, Watch House Bay. Less frequented by families due to a lack of shops nearby, it's also an excellent beach for swimming, with coves where you can protect yourself from the wind.
