Yubara Onsen, a spa located in a famous hot spring area, has one of the major rotenburo (open-air baths) in western Japan, the "Sunayu". This rotenburo is open 24 hours a day and is built against a dam. The bath is mixed, so it is recommended to wear appropriate clothing (rental fee). It is surrounded by rocks and takes place in the bed of the Asahi River. The many accommodations, including traditional ryokan , restaurants and souvenir shops, located nearby, invite us to spend a night there.
