The museum moved in 2004, to a more spacious and modern location, made of glass, concrete and steel. The structure, which overlooks the buildings, depicts a metallic sail flying up to the sky. The current building was designed by architect César Pelli. Inside the museum are works by contemporary Japanese artists (more than 6,000), engravings, sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs... and a huge canvas by Miro. Numerous temporary exhibitions are also regularly organized.
