This hotel, founded in 1878, was one of the first to adopt Western codes in Japan. After renovation, it reopened in 2020. In terms of aesthetics and architecture, it is one of the most beautiful resorts in Japan, which has hosted many celebrities such as Helen Keller, John Lennon or Prince Charles. The brand new rooms offer all the comforts one could hope for, and the food is delicious. Even without staying there, the place is worth a visit, if only to have a tea in the lounge.
