In the heart of the Utah desert, this park is home to colorful canyons, hills and arches spread over some 136,621 hectares. The park is divided into four districts by the Green and Colorado rivers, and is visited in a rather uneven fashion. These are Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze and Horseshoe Canyon Unit. Each of them has its own particularities and requires special organization. It is also possible to discover the area by navigating one of the rivers, with a minimum two-day expedition.
