Rather than a canyon, Bryce is a gigantic, horseshoe-shaped natural amphitheater created by erosion of the eastern part of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Its geological structures - hoodoos, also known as "fairy chimneys" - are extraordinary. This chaos of delicately jagged boulders and needles, dominating the sides of a steep valley, is one of the most meticulous giant sculptures whose artists are none other than the wind, rain and frost. The masterpiece would be unfinished if the whims of nature had not deposited, here and there, touches of scarlet pink, orange, white, gray, purple, blue, vermeil ... A trail - the Rim Trail - follows the jagged plateau that borders the canyon for several dozen kilometers. In only a few hours, its first part allows to explore the most spectacular sites. A must-see in Utah.
