Celebrated throughout the United States, this holiday is a huge success in Las Vegas. The city becomes the scene of numerous festivities and shows organized by casinos, shopping centers, bars and restaurants. The parade in Downtown Summerlin or the entertainment in Forest Village (HallOVeen) are really worth a visit. And for the occasion, the Zak Bagans' Haunted Museum, located in Downtown, is a must-see to start the Halloween celebrations in Las Vegas. Beware, sensitive souls abstain.

These are the World Poker Championships, a series of extremely prestigious tournaments. Organized in Las Vegas since 1970, they were created on the initiative of the sulphurous Benny Binion. The popularity of the event and the number of registrants have grown steadily, reaching 197,626 entrants and over $347.9 million in winnings in 2023. Patrick Bruel was the first Frenchman to reach the WSOP final, in 1998. Famous athletes such as basketball player Tony Parker and footballer Neymar are also regulars.

Armor and lace dresses are the costumes worn for this annual festival held in Sunset Park, not far from Harry Reid International Airport. Over the course of a weekend, visitors move between craft, food and drink stalls, not forgetting knight tournaments and sword fights. The festival also welcomes artists to perform music, dance, magic and storytelling.

The festival, which originated in France, is now much more important in the United States (in New Orleans) and Brazil (in Rio de Janeiro), where carnivals are huge costume parties that last several days. The two casinos, the Orleans and the Rio, which have taken these cities as their theme, organize large carnival festivities for the occasion with themed parties and large parades. Many Cajun and Creole restaurants in the city also offer other festivities.

Concerts, gigantic fireworks displays, dancers and even stuntmen... it's all part of the New Year's Eve celebrations on the Strip, in Downtown and in all the casinos. The highlight of the evening is, of course, the simultaneous fireworks display from the roofs of eight Strip casinos, which are closed to traffic for the occasion. Numerous parties are also organized in the city's bars and restaurants. It's best to bring a warm jacket, as at this time of year it can get chilly in the evenings.

Like many large American cities, Las Vegas also has its Chinatown (located along Spring Mountain Road) where grocery stores, restaurants, laundries... It is on the Chinatown Plaza that the New Year is celebrated every year, the date of which is set by the observatory of the Purple Mountain in Nanjing on the first day of the new moon. Many casinos also take part in this annual celebration by offering themes on China.

Organized by the Southern Nevada Association of Pride, this is the largest annual gay gathering in Las Vegas. The parade route begins in the Downtown district in the late afternoon (around 6 p.m.). Participants make their way up^4th Street, converging a few blocks south on the Fremont Street Experience. This annual event brings together not only the gay community, but also many businesses that support the LGBTQ cause. Las Vegas also hosts many other events throughout the year.

On this occasion, runners from all over the world will take their best strides on the Strip, exceptionally closed to traffic, for a night race. Be careful not to get dizzy from all the neon lights of the casinos and the festive atmosphere that reigns all around Las Vegas Boulevard. In addition to the half marathon, the organizers offer other distances such as 5 or 10 kilometers. At this time of the year, the temperature is around 18°C.
