The small mountain village of Goch can be discovered at the end of a road indicated by a sign on the right on the main road to Idjevan, about 15 kilometres north of Dilidjan. An enchanting site, which is the setting of one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia, Gochavank, lulled by the memory of the 12th century Armenian scholar, Mkhitar Goch. It can also be reached by a small path in the forest, starting from the Parz Litch, going up the course of a small torrent, the Ketik. The pretty road leads to mountain pastures on the edge of the forest area. Some modest farmsteads point to the existence of the hamlet of Goch, also called Nor Ketik. dominated by the elegant silhouette of the monastery, which rises on a mound, leaning against the rocky walls of the mountain. From the monastery one has a superb view of the wooded slopes of the surrounding high mountains
