Petit Futé's opinion on ST. ANNE'S CHURCH

The exterior of St. Anne's Church is sober and made of brick. Rebuilt on the ruins of the Gothic church sacked by the iconoclasts of the 16th century (1581), its construction was delayed due to the creation of the second city wall on this site. Inaugurated in 1624, in Renaissance style, it reveals a very rococo interior: marble rood screen, busy furniture, multiple works are the immense Last Judgment of Hendrik Herregouts, 100m2 of painting! The nave is covered with woodwork in the taste of the late seventeenth century.
