OUR HISTORY

FRANCO BELGIAN

Young, talented and full of enthusiasm. You can't describe Dries Cracco and Tomas Puype more typically. The two chefs met ten years ago at the Ter Groene Poorte cooking school in Bruges. Their common passion for the job, their predilection for refined and authentic cuisine (including classical and world cuisine) created a strong bond.

After their studies, both of them followed their own path as cooks in various starred restaurants. Tomas made his debut at Auberge De Herborist in Bruges, Jardin in Knokke, A'qi in Bruges and Sans Cravate in Bruges. Dries was in charge of the kitchens of Restaurant Jardin in Knokke, Esco in Wetteren and Boury in Roeselare

During this time, their dream grew to run a kitchen together where they could develop their vision of cooking. In 2016, this dream took shape: the restaurant Franco Belge was born. Franco Belge is the go-to place for lovers of traditional Franco-Belgian cuisine with a contemporary twist. This is also reflected in the unique setting of the restaurant, which elegantly blends the authenticity of Old Bruges with a refined and trendy elegance.
