The village of Rivello offers a magnificent panorama of the Noce valley and the Sirino massif. Famous for its copper craftsmanship, it also has original religious buildings. At the time of the Lombard and Byzantine conquest, the two peoples fought over the strategic location of the village, until they finally coexisted together. The Lombards settled in the upper part of the village and the Byzantines in the lower part. This unusual coexistence gave rise to two distinct centers, with two different cultures: one around the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, of Latin rite, the other around the church of San Nicola, of Greek rite.
