A small village that lives up to its name. A holiday resort in the foothills of Mount Santa Croce, Bella has small coloured houses clinging to the hillside around the Aragonese castle. There is nothing special about Bella, except for the peace and quiet of the village and a visit to the small church of Madonna delle Grazie, where you can admire a 16th century polyptych attributed to Andrea da Salerno and a fresco by Giovanni Todisco. A few steps away (Acqua di Faggio), the wood of Santa Croce promises beautiful walks up to the top of the homonymous mountain. These forests, which are now quiet, were once a refuge for the brigands who plagued the area.
