An excursion here will delight lovers of wide open spaces. Gusinje is located a few kilometers from the majestic Prokletije mountain range, straddling Montenegro and Albania. Formerly a stopover on the caravan route from Dubrovnik to Istanbul, it was a prosperous city in the 19th century: from this past, the village has preserved a few beautifully built houses. Several paved roads allow you to go deeper into the mountains from where several hiking trails start: Vusanje village and Skakavica waterfall. The locals meet every second day of August at the Ali Pasha springs (Alipasini izvori).
