Situated on the slopes of the Vrmac hill, at an altitude of 300 m, Gornja Lastva is a small village typical of the Mediterranean mountainous regions, as one finds many in Corsica, for example. Mentioned for the first time in the 14th century, it counted up to 500 inhabitants at the beginning of the 20th century before the rural exodus affected it like all the neighboring villages. A few people still live there but it is clear that cats have become the main occupants of the village... In ruins, it is however for some years the object of all the attention.
