One of the few remains unearthed in the city, the foundations of this synagogue are located 5 minutes from the seafront. In the early 1980s, archaeologists discovered a mosaic with a seven-branch candlestick. New excavations have revealed the presence of other Jewish motifs, including a representation of the Ark of the Covenant, which establishes the presence of a Jewish community in Saranda in late antiquity and makes this synagogue one of the few known buildings built by the Jewish diaspora in the Roman Empire.
