MUSEUM OF EDUCATION

This small national museum (Muzeu Kombëtar i Arsimit) is housed in the country's first Albanian-language school, founded in 1887. Established in 1981, it focuses on the evolution of the educational system, with particular reference to the Monastir Congress of November 1908. It was in this town, now called Bitola in northern Macedonia, that the Albanian alphabet was standardized, comprising 34 letters based on the Latin alphabet. Characters and combinations such as "ë", "dh", "rr", "xh" and others are considered letters in their own right
