This hamlet of 360 souls is named after Joseph Cooper, a late 19th century miner who worked hard in the area to find gold and attracted some nugget seekers. The area is best known for its many salmon fishing opportunities. And who says salmon, also says bears come here to hunt, and sometimes in summer to make the show of these plantigrades! Moreover, it is also the crossing of two superb hiking trails that cross the island. The possibility of practicing rafting at a good level attracts another group of tourists looking for adventure. You can also visit its small museum.
