The only chapel on the island, dedicated to the fishermen Saint-Pierre and Saint-Tropez in Port-Cros

Along the bay, this pretty stone chapel dedicated to the fishermen St. Pierre and St. Tropez, was built in 1866 in a former military building. It used to be a dispensary for soldiers returning from the Tonkin War, which opposed France and China. Its brick bell tower and the rectangular aspect of the plan are a testimony of this military past. Today, it is the only chapel on the island. Open to the public, it has a beautiful acoustic for singing!
