The coastal side of Mimizan is Mimizan-Plage and its 10 kilometers of fine golden sand. Six supervised beaches, some of which start as early as May and run until mid-September, such as the Plage du Lac in Aureilhan, await holidaymakers for a little idleness and a few sessions of surfing, kite surfing, jet skiing, wave skiing, bodyboarding... Several beaches are accessible by bike, and three are adapted for people with reduced mobility (Plage de la Garluche, Sud and Lespecier). Some have showers, sanitary facilities, first-aid posts and volleyball courts. Many restaurants and tapas bars have their feet in the sand.
