The motto of the club is: "The best surfer is the one who takes the most pleasure". Created in 1968, Lacanau Surf Club currently has nearly 600 members. You will find it in the large Maison de la Glisse, on the seafront at the northern end. A place fully dedicated to surfing and its addicts, it was inaugurated in 1990 in order to allow the largest club of surfing in Europe (and also, one of the first created in France) to have its own place to manage Lacanau Pro as it should be, among other things. On the programme: initiation to surfing, body boarding, longboarding, skimboarding. They are the only ones to offer the "jardin des vagues" option, a fun initiation at low tide for children, over the age of 5. The stand up paddle has not been forgotten either. Throughout the year the team offers rides on the shore of the Moutchic lake (on reservation, go to the club, same rates as for surfing).
