A magnificent peninsula, a symbol of the Côte d'Azur and a sublime junction between Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, Cap d'Antibes is a privileged residential site where Mediterranean vegetation has retained its rightful place. A tour by car or bike along the seaside road, or especially on foot along the customs path, is a real delight. To the east, the snow-capped peaks of the Mercantour contrast with the Mediterranean. To the west, the peaks of the Estérel rise above the Lérins islands. Often, a topaz sea of oil caresses the fine sands of the coastline, sometimes sapphire waves break against blade-sharp white rocks.Through the greenery that forms a natural screen, we can make out some of the sumptuous, carefully protected properties. The Eden-Roc palace, set in an 8-hectare estate, is undoubtedly the finest jewel on the cape, welcoming stars and VIPs from all over the world, not least during the Cannes International Film Festival. Inaugurated in June 1870, the American Gordon Bennett relaunched it much later by sponsoring the first motor races. Enlarged in 1914, it became, along with the Negresco in Nice and the Carlton in Cannes, the archetypal luxury hotel on the Côte d'Azur.Fortunately, Cap d'Antibes isn't all about luxury: it also offers magnificent walks in the heart of nature, along the seafront or at greater heights, so you can always enjoy the magnificent scenery. Not to be missed!
