Port-Leucate was created in the mid-1960s as part of the development of the Languedoc-Roussillon coastline. Built on an imposing stretch of sand between the sea and the pond, its port is one of the largest in Europe with 1,200 berths and more than 950 boats. The resort is also famous for its winds, which make the happiness of kitesurfing, sky sly, sand yachting and windsurfing enthusiasts. The resort contains another treasure of the most refined, the oyster, which you can taste live at the oyster farms. Port Leucate offers a unique international festival dedicated to the voices of cinema: Voix d'Etoiles (end of October).
