Omoide Yokocho, the alley of memories, reminds us of the post-war time when hundreds of tiny shops swarmed in the alleys around the station. Most of them have been destroyed, but this one has survived. The microscopic restaurants and bars open around 5pm. People eat yakitori, oden, noodles, all washed down with sake and beer. The street is even nicknamed "piss alley". The place is completely anachronistic. We might as well enjoy it, because we don't know how long this little street will last.
