Located a few kilometres after Khemisti, the port of Bou-Haroun attracted many ruined Spanish and Italian fishermen during the colonization, tempted to make a fortune in Algeria. As early as the 20th century, the small port of Bou-Haroun became a renowned fishing area, which is still very active today. This one is full of small fish restaurants taken by the Algiers on sunny weekend days. Sardines are excellent and cheap. Fish lovers will also be interested in the day's catch of the day sold on the port: swordfish, whiting, mullet, sardines... Unusual: it is the only port in Algeria where the auction is "silent" because fish prices are set by whispering in the seller's ear.
