THÉÂTRE NATIONAL ALGÉRIEN

The old Opera of Algiers conceived by the architects Chassériau and Ponsard in 1853, then rebuilt in 1883 following the fire which damaged it, became at Independence the Algerian National Theater. Recently beautifully restored and repainted, it regularly hosts national and foreign troupes.

Ask to speak to the manager, Sherif Chikhechioukh, who is very friendly and will gladly show you around the backstage of the theater, provided he has some free time.
