Idyllic Maggia Valley, as the locals call it! The village of Maggia lies in the lower/middle part of the valley at 332 m altitude. The village is especially interesting for its Madonna delle Grazie church, which overlooks the area. It's definitely a great place for walking, with over 700 km of trails. You can follow the Maggia, the river that flows into Lake Maggiore. You'll be captivated by the beauty of the area, where grey stone is reflected in emerald-green waters. On a fine summer's day, it's hard not to succumb to a wild swim in the waters of this beautiful river.
