The Lötschental region is sometimes unkindly called "the end of the world"! But it is not a dark desert and devoid of interest. Quite the contrary, since this valley can be proud of the trio Jungfrau-Aletsch-Impressive, which has become a world natural heritage classified by UNESCO. This valley is unique by its nature. In the Lötschental it seems good that values have persisted, probably thanks to a constant struggle for survival, long isolation and wild nature. It is then an opportunity to listen to often mystical legends, and those that run on animals that still live here in the wild, like those mice that mordraient stones (if, dare to talk about you around you)! This natural valley abounds with treasures: villages completely preserved from large stations, wild and protected flora and fauna. Today, you can easily reach the. tunnel on the road from Gampel to Goppenstein and continue to Fafleralp. You can walk in the village of Ferden, quite typical with its small white church and cottages, but also in Kippel and Blatten, which are of the same ilk. Wiler has more recent buildings and more able to accommodate tourists. The cemeteries of the villages, of an exemplary sobriety, are noted and the same graves are comparable to the cemeteries on the beaches of landing in Normandy. You can stay in Blatten at the Edelweiss Hotel. Visit the Lötschental Museum in Kippel. The walks in the nature of this end of the world are very beautiful, especially on the edge of the Lonza, the river that crosses the region. The wild nature is very close to the men.
