Located before Les Haudères on the road to Sion, Évolène is an authentic village with a great deal of character because of its wooden chalets with huge slates, characteristic of the region's landscapes. Some of them are really old and the architectural ensemble of the village, in the middle of the valley, is remarkable. You will immediately feel at ease in the main street of the village where the few shopkeepers give a warm welcome to their customers. Don't forget to check the time on the beautiful sundial which serves as a clock at the top of the parish church. In winter, the trails are perfect for snowshoeing
