Resting on a rock on Lake Geneva, Château de Glérolles is located just west of Saint-Saphorin, near Rivaz. Since 1802, the year of the Vaud revolution, the château has been privately owned, but remains open to the public for tastings of the estate's wines. The story goes that Rousseau walked here from Vevey and, tired, asked for a drink. He was served piquette... The moment the philosopher began to speak, a good bottle was quickly fetched for him!
