Built in the 19th century, the venue has retained its original dual function as a small theater in summer and a greenhouse for orange trees in winter. It offers a short but intense season of fine classics from the theatrical repertoire, lesser-known plays and contemporary creations. The bistro La Terrazza de l'Orangerie offers food and drink before and after the show. There's even dancing!

The Association pour l'encouragement de la musique improvisée (AMR) was founded in 1973 by Geneva musicians involved in the jazz and improvised music scene. Since then, the AMR and its musical center, the "Sud des Alpes", have offered a regular and highly acclaimed musical program from mid-September to mid-June, jam sessions every Tuesday, and an annual festival (the AMR Jazz Festival in spring and the AMR at Les Cropettes at the end of June).
