This small community of two towns (Grünau and Schönau) is located in the canton of St. Gallen. Urnäsch is home to the Appenzeller Brauchtumsmuseum, the museum of Appenzell traditions, where you can discover the life and customs of the Appenzell people of yesteryear: New Year's Eve rituals, traditional processions, cowherds' work, alpine cart and hut, old crafts, cooper's workshop, saddlery, music room, homes of yesteryear, traditional costumes, embroidery, rustic paintings from early to modern times.
